Apostrophes

The difference between "its" and "it's".

" Its " is a possessive like "his" and "her".

For example: "As the car rounded the bend its left wheel fell off."

(As he got out of the car his shoe fell off.")

" It's " is a contraction of "it is".

For example: " It's cold outside."
